Here at A&M Imaging, we have decades of experience in all types of film processing and printing, investing in the highest quality of equipment and personnel to uphold the highest quality of service for our customers.
How you get your film processed – does it really matter? It should. You only get one shot to develop film… so we make sure its done right! At A&M Imaging, we use a dip and dunk processor to develop all of our C41 colour film and if you care about getting the best quality processing done for your negatives, then the dip and dunk process is for you.
Just as the name would suggest, 35mm film, 120 film, 5:4 and 10:8 film are hung from racks and dipped into a dunk tank filled with processing chemicals in order to be developed. Unlike a pull-through machine, nothing is touching your rolls of film while it’s being developed through the dip and dunk process. It’s just chemicals on your negatives. That means that tears, scratches, and other processing issues are completely avoided during development.
The film gets agitated in the dunk tank by tiny bubbles, created by nitrogen being pumped into the tank, that move the chemicals uniformly around the film to ensure that it is being developed evenly across the negative. The temperature of the chemicals is also precisely controlled to make sure that chemical reactions taking place last just the right amount of time. This ensures a perfectly (and consistently) processed negative every single time.
Dip and dunk processors also allow us to measure EXACTLY how much film is being developed every single day. And automatically and most importantly accurately replenish the chemicals within the machine based on their changing potency.
We process almost all film types including 110, 126, 35mm, 120 medium format, 5x4 and 10x8 sheet film on all of the most popular methods of processing, such as C-41, E6/slide and Black & White, as well as cross processing and push or pull processing.
Our current turn around time is 2-3 days, however we do offer a further 24HR rush service for those who are on a tight schedule!
We scan and digitise all types of films, mounted slides, glass slides, Kodachromes old photographs and just about any format from any era. We also offer restoration services.
